GC Design/Build Associates​

GC Design/Build Associates is a full service design/build company owned by Gary Charpentier of Barrington, RI.

 

Gary was educated at Southeastern Mass University (now UMASS Dartmouth) and Cleveland Institute of Art with further studies at Boston Architectural College, Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design.

 

Gary has over 35 years of experience in the residential and light commercial construction business. 

 

Beginning from the ground up as a carpenter's helper at age 16 in SE Mass, Gary started and ran his own contracting business in order to put himself through school; he eventually

went on to manage and build many residential and commercial construction projects for other business owners.

 

Progressing through a partnership in Cleveland Heights, Ohio designing and building passive and hybrid solar and energy efficient structures, Gary returned to SE Mass and started North Coast Construction, a Design/Build firm based in Mattapoisett, MA. specializing in custom, energy efficient homes and additions.

 

Since relocating to Rhode Island over 20 years ago, Gary has designed, built and renovated homes and additions and has provided Project Manager and Owner's Representation services on multiple residential and mixed-use developments ranging in cost from $150,000 to $29,000,000.

Being trained in the arts, Gary also maintains a private studio, Heron Walk Studio, in Barrington, RI, where he crafts and creates multiple objects and designs.
